PROJECT SOUL 2021 - 5th Edition
It is time for my 5th year of the popular and very limited mini sessions of PROJECT SOUL.
These sessions are shot as black and white sessions for a very modern yet classic aesthetic. These timeless images you will treasure forever for their simple styling and real expressions.
This years sessions will be held at The Event Center of New Iberia
located at 521 North Lewis Street on November 13th and December 3rd.
This location features a simple light grey wall and beautiful flooring which will be used as a backdrop for these sessions.
These sessions are shot with available natural light and artificial light as I see fit. I shoot to balance light and shadows in a way that leans towards dynamic black and white images.
I will guide through a flow of poses and expressions, mainly looking for relaxed and real expressions and I aim for authenticity.
The amount of images you will receive will depend on the cooperation and number of the subject(s) and the time frame of the session you choose. I ask that you manage your expectations but typically these sessions will yield more images than one might think!
These images are processed in my style of black and white with very light spot blemish retouching and will be sent to you via an emailed link to your private gallery on my site. You will be given a password to log in and download your images with a print release so you can print what and where you want as well as a full gallery upload and referral to my recommended printing lab of MPIX.com. Galleries are sent out in order that they are shot and worked.
It is your session and you can wear what you like but I recommend very simple styling. Please make sure outfits are something they feel comfortable in, can move in and they are ready to go at their session start time.
As a test run, is it an outfit that they could quickly sit on the floor in without feeling uncomfortable or having to adjust clothing? In a time constrained mini session you do not want your clothing to take away from shooting time.
Some of my favorite looks for these sessions are
- loose hair
- chapstick and mascara, clean faces, moisturized skin
- black or white polo, button up, tank top, vneck, tshirt or turtleneck
- simple jewelry
- denim shorts, jeans, overalls or khakis
- clean bare feet
Session options are in 5 minute slots. You may book as many consecutive slots as you'd like to depending on the length of session you want. In most cases a 5 minute session is fine. If you have siblings a portion of your time frame you book will be for shots of them together but the focus will be on individual shots.
Pro Tip: If you are bringing siblings who may not typically snuggle up with each other please let them know ahead of time they may be asked to hug up with each other! Tell them no worries it will be over in 5 minutes :)
The session is priced in 5 minute time slots. You may pay the discounted upfront price of $45 per 5 minute spot or you may choose a $25 deposit and $25 due the day of per 5 minute time slot.
Session reservation payments must be paid within 24 hours of booking or your slot will be released. Reservation payments can be paid via the apps listed below, balances can be paid via the apps or exact cash the day of. Change will not be available. No checks please.

Due to the custom and limited nature of this session and the in demand time slots no refunds will be given for no shows. If you need to cancel please try to give a 48 hour notice so your spot can be filled and refunded.

As you enter the building I will likely be in a session, please check in with my assistant, sign in and wait to be called to the staging area. You may come to the shooting area with your child if you feel you need to but often times the images are better if they come in alone as it removes the "pressure to perform."
Please arrive earlier than your time spot so you can bee ready to enter exactly on time. Due to the tight scheduling of these sessions I will make every effort possible to stay on time frame and will start and end each session promptly.
