Project Soul is a way to be able to free kids, tweens and teens from the idea of perfection and to empower them to feel confident about themselves and to be able to embrace the perceived flaws that actually make them so uniquely beautiful.
I want to let them see the beauty that I see and I want you to have an image you cherish of this time in their life.
Project Soul sessions are for kids of most ages in purposefully simple styling, no glitz and no glam - just them as they are. This year’s session will be taken on a dark backdrop with studio lighting and are all processed as black and white images only and without beauty retouching. I purposefully shoot for a mix of soft light and deep shadows to create the dramatic and impactful portrait I am looking for.
These sessions are not shot with an intent on those cheesy, fake, stare and smile for the camera type smiles. I will guide them through a combination of relaxed soulful expressions, great eye contact, looking away profiles, and authentic grins once they feel natural and comfortable.
I recommend very simple styling in solid colors, denim and bare feet. Please make sure outfits are something they feel comfortable in and they are ready to go at their session start time.
The photography studio will be set up at Paige’s Dance and Cheer Studio located at 1010 Twenty Arpent Rd. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Each appointment slot will be for 10 minutes. I find this is the sweet spot for kids who do not want to be put on the spot for too long but still allows for a variety of images.
The sessions are intended for one child at a time but for siblings you may book them into one spot and they will share the time or you can book multiple back to back session time spots. Siblings will be posed “cuddled up” so warn your kids if you need to J they only have to love on each other for a few minutes!
The age recommended for this session is typically 8 and up. I have had younger participants as long as they are able to handle posing direction, comfortable on a stool and a tight time frame.
Sessions will happen rain or shine and any fees paid will not be refunded if you do not show. If the session must be canceled due to an emergency by me, every effort will be made to reschedule as soon as possible.
Sessions will be completed on a first shot, first done basis within my normal session turnaround time frame.
The investment includes the session fee, the per person location fee, tax and your downloadable high resolution images. Images will be available as downloads from your private gallery on my site and they will be uploaded to mpix.com for convenient, optional and affordable printing options.

- Or may be paid as $30 at the time of booking via paypal at PayPal.Me/AKSellersPhotography/30 or Venmo at @AKSellers and $60 the day of the session in cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.
Once you choose your session time at the link listed below you must send your Session fee payment. Full Session fee or Partial Session Deposit choice must be paid the same day that the time slot is selected or your session time will be released.
